Finishes & handles
Every paddle is engraved and then finished by hand. Pick one in the designer’s “Finish” tab, and its “Engraved look” shows how your design reads on it.

Natural included
The pale wood as it is, under a clear satin seal. The crispest engraving.

Honey
A warm golden amber, like an old schoolhouse paddle.

Blush
A sheer pink wash, with the grain showing through.

Lavender
A sheer purple wash, with the grain showing through.

Midnight
Stained black, then engraved through, so your design shows lighter. Bold and dramatic.
Handles
Choose them in the designer’s “Handle” tab, where you’ll see them on your paddle.
The grip
- Bare wood included The wavy wooden handle, finished like the rest of the paddle.
- Faux-leather wrap Vegan leather wound over the grip. Soft, grippy, and it wipes clean like the wood. In Black, Blush, Lavender or Tan.
- Cord wrap Tightly wrapped 550 cord. Very grippy and nearly indestructible; fabric, so wash it by hand. In Black, Blush, Lavender or Tan.
Through the hole
- Nothing included Just the hanging hole.
- Wrist strap An adjustable faux-leather loop through the hole, so it can't slip out of your hand. Recommended for the big paddles. In Black, Blush, Lavender or Tan.
- Tassel A silky tassel on a short cord. Pretty on a wall. In Blush, Lavender, Black or Cream.
Charms
A little heart, padlock or key in gold-tone metal, on its own or with a strap or tassel.
How they’re made
We engrave the bare wood, then stain it, then seal it. Midnight is the other way round: we stain it black first and engrave through the stain, so your design shows in the lighter wood beneath. The stains are sheer, so the grain shows through, and every paddle comes out a little different.
Sealed, so it wipes clean
Every finish ends with a clear water-based coat, so the surface is sealed rather than bare wood that soaks things up. Wipe it down after use with a damp cloth and mild soap, or a toy cleaner, and let it dry. Don’t soak it or put it in a dishwasher. Faux-leather wraps and straps wipe clean the same way; cord wraps and tassels are fabric, so wash them gently by hand.
Seeing the colours for real
Screens all show colour a little differently. We’re putting together a swatch kit, with a small engraved chip in every finish, so you can see and feel them before you order.
